Dear Dr. Li,
1 am writing to express my sincere gratitude for the surgery you performed on August 19, 2025, to treat my severe L4/5 spinal stenosis. The procedure has completely resolved my walking difficulties (claudication), and I am now able to walk two miles without stopping – a significant improvement that has greatly enhanced my quality of life.
Before the surgery, I had to stop and rest after walking only 100 to 200 feet, and I lived with the constant worry that I might eventually lose control of my bladder.
Looking back at photos and videos from my trips to Amsterdam in April and London in June, I recall the embarrassment that I was searching all the time for places to sit – stairs, chairs, rocks, or curbs – simply to relieve the discomfort and fatigue. At the time, I feared that this would become a permanent part of my life.
1 am very grateful that the ULBD minimally invasive spine surgery was an option in my case. I was particularly concerned about a spinal fusion, which would not have been ideal given my Parkinson’s disease and the potential need for future additional procedures.
Since the operation, I have not only regained the ability to walk long distances without interruption, but my bladder control has also returned to normal, and the urgency I previously experienced has disappeared.
I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to you and your entire team for the outstanding care I received. The operation brochure you gave me was thoroughly prepared and has been helpful all the time. You have truly given me back the freedom to walk – something I no longer take for granted
Thank you once again for your exceptional surgical skill, professionalism, and dedication.
